About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course CLAS 2P34 - Cities and Sanctuaries of the Ancient World. The compensation for a half course is $7,887.59 and for a full course is $15,775.20, effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab. Duties include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, course administration, grade appeals, and cases of academic dishonesty, in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.

Requirements

• PhD in Classics, Classical Archaeology or Ancient History in hand or near completion.
• Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
• Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Classics.
