About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group for the course CLAS/HAVC 3P24 - Art and Architecture of Early Greece. This position involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, including preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The compensation for this role is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • PhD in Classics or closely related field, in hand or near completion.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
  • Prior teaching and/or research experience in the study of Classics.
