About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course CHYS 4P50 Winter D3, focusing on Trauma and Abuse in the Lives of Children and Youth. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation for this role is set at $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally), effective September 1, 2026. Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture, or equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, encompassing scheduled student contact time and non-classroom activities such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, course administration, grade appeals, and handling cases of academic dishonesty.

Requirements

  • PhD in Child and Youth Studies, Psychology or related Social Sciences discipline. Senior doctoral candidates will be considered if no qualified applicants are available.
  • Teaching and research experience in trauma-informed theory, practice and policy, child protection services, and developmental outcomes and diversity.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
