About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for CHYS 2P51 Winter D3 - RESEARCH METHODS IN CHILD & YOUTH STUDIES I. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The Course Coordinator will report to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and will be responsible for overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of assignments and exams. Requirements

Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
Must have previously completed CHYS 2P51 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Previous successful experience as a Course Coordinator for CHYS 2P51 will be considered as equivalent.
Previous course coordination experience (particularly with a large course) will be an asset.
Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
