About The Position

Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for an Instructor for the course CHYS 4P01 Winter D3 - Development of Self & Identity. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The compensation for this role is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (nominally 195 hours) or $15,775.20 per full course (nominally 390 hours). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities align with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement, encompassing scheduled student contact time and non-classroom activities such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking, grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and academic dishonesty cases.

Requirements

  • PhD in Child and Youth Studies, Psychology or related Social Sciences discipline. Senior doctoral candidates will be considered if no qualified applicants are available.
  • Teaching and research experience in development of self and identity as it pertains to children and youth.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level (letters of reference and course/performance evaluations).
