About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for the ACTG 3P43 (Taxation I) course for the Fall 2026 semester. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group and involves a nominal workload of 195 hours per half credit course. The course teaches principles underlying federal income taxation in Canada through an analysis of the Income Tax Act, R.S.C., as amended, including the computation of net income for tax purposes. Instructors are responsible for developing the course outline, preparing and delivering lectures, creating and administering assignments, tests, and final exams, scheduling and maintaining student contact hours, and grading student assignments. They also manage disciplinary and academic integrity issues for the course, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty, in coordination with the Chair. Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture format are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Business related discipline is desirable
  • Current CPA designation is desirable
  • Prior teaching experience in accounting or taxation or relevant work experience
