About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the course ACTG 4P11 (Accounting Theory) for the Fall 2026 term. The compensation for this position is $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) or $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally), effective September 1, 2026. Instructors employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Accounting Theory teaches the economic, behavioral, and ethical foundations of accounting theory, including the need for and development of standards, a conceptual framework, alternatives to present accounting models, and current issues.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Accounting or Business related discipline is desirable
Current CPA designation is desirable
Prior teaching experience in accounting or taxation or relevant work experience
If vacancies remain, other candidates will be considered

Responsibilities

Develop course outline
Prepare and deliver scholarly lectures
Create and administer assignments, tests, and final exams within timelines noted by the Chair and in line with usual University and departmental practice
Schedule and maintain student contact time/hours
Be responsible for grading of student assignments
In coordination with the Chair, manage disciplinary and academic integrity for the course, which may include grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty
