Instructional Design Manager, Online Learning
About The Position
America’s Credit Unions is seeking a highly organized and experienced Instructional Design Manager to lead the strategic design, development, and evolution of its online education ecosystem. The role leads the design, development, and maintenance of curriculum competencies, establishes instructional design standards, fosters innovation, and promotes continuous improvement in online learning environments. The position designs and delivers education through online learning, webinars, videos, and self-directed activities, applying adult learning and instructional design principles. It evaluates learner feedback and course effectiveness, uses analytics to improve learning outcomes, and manages concurrent projects and external contributors. The position is hybrid and based in Madison, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver educational content using web-based and online learning, webinars, videos, and self-directed development activities, following curriculum design principles and standards.
- Prioritize user engagement and satisfaction throughout instructional design to provide a high-quality end-user experience.
- Review, revise, and update online content, integrating interactive elements to improve engagement and learning outcomes.
- Test course functionality across platforms to ensure a seamless learner experience.
- Apply adult learning, instructional systems design, and evaluation practices, including the Kirkpatrick model, to develop and refine educational programs.
- Monitor course satisfaction through evaluations, advisory groups, and market intelligence to assess course relevance and applicability.
- Use data analytics and evaluation metrics to assess course and instructional strategy effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, including scope, roles, deliverables, and timelines across departments and stakeholders.
- Supervise freelance instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and content developers, providing direction, support, and mentorship.
- Recruit, hire, and review subject matter experts for course creation or review, including negotiating contractor fees.
- Stay current with emerging online learning technologies and tools and integrate them into course design.
