Instructional Assistant - 25 Hours/Week - Alderwood (Current Employees)
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Instructional Assistant helps a certificated teacher reinforce instruction for individual students or small groups in an assigned classroom. The role also assists with preparing instructional materials and implementing lesson plans, provides routine clerical support, and performs related work as required. This is an in-district vacancy open only to current school district employees who have passed their six-month probationary period. Applicants who are not currently Instructional Assistants with IUSD must provide one of the specified qualifying documents.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school and some experience working with children in an educational or organized setting, or an equivalent combination.
- Applicants must be current employees of the district and have passed their six-month probationary period.
- Applicants who are not currently IUSD Instructional Assistants must provide one of the following: proof of passing the CBEST; proof of an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution in the United States; IUSD Proficiency Test scores of at least 70% in all sections; ACT scores of at least 23 in Math and 22 in English; or SAT scores of at least 550 in Math and 500 in English.

- Participation in courses, seminars, and workshops in instructional services, psychology, or guidance is encouraged.
