Instructional Assistant - Special Ed - 29 Hours/Week- Portola Springs, Springbrook, Stone Creek(Current Employees)
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Instructional Assistant assists instructional personnel in reinforcing instruction for individual students or small groups in an assigned classroom or other learning environment. The role may include providing instructional and behavior support to individual students one-on-one, helping prepare instructional materials and implement lesson plans, and providing routine clerical support. Related work may be assigned as required. This is an in-house vacancy for current Irvine Unified School District employees who have passed their six-month probationary period. The assignment is 29 hours per week at one of the following sites: Portola Springs, Springbrook, or Stone Creek. Applicants must select at least one site on their application. Applicants who are not currently IUSD instructional assistants must provide one of the specified qualifying documents as a certification.
Requirements
- Must be a current employee of the school district and have passed the six-month probationary period.
- Graduation from high school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Some experience working with children in an educational or organized setting.
- Applicants who are not currently IUSD instructional assistants must provide one of the following: proof of passing the CBEST; proof of an AA degree or higher from an accredited U.S. institution; IUSD Proficiency Test scores of at least 70% in all sections; ACT scores of at least 23 in Math and 22 in English; or SAT scores of at least 550 in Math and 500 in English.
