About The Position
Russel Metals is seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative with hands-on steel processing experience and a strong understanding of service center operations for its Houston, Texas location. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well within a team, and brings a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Russel Metals is one of the largest metals distribution companies in North America, with a growing focus on value-added processing. It operates metals service centers, energy field stores, and steel distributors. Its metals service centers offer carbon hot rolled and cold finished steel, pipe and tubular products, stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous specialty metals. Energy field stores serve energy industry customers, and the steel distributors segment supplies large volumes of steel to service centers and equipment manufacturers.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of steel industry experience.
- Ability to read CAD/DWG files.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Driven, dependable, and team-oriented, with a positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Warehouse or service center experience is a plus.
- Steel sales experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Quote and process steel orders accurately.
- Coordinate with operations and processing teams.
- Review drawings and processing requirements.
- Manage delivery timelines and customer expectations.
- Support account growth and develop new business opportunities.
