Your work environment at EXP In this role, you will be part of the Bridges and Civil Structures design team within our Transportation sector. You will work from one of our offices located in Montreal, Sherbrooke, Quebec, Drummondville, Laval, Longueuil, or Vaudreuil-Dorion (depending on your location) and will have the opportunity to contribute to projects such as those for the Ministry of Transportation of Quebec and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated. You will participate in various design and inspection projects for road equipment within the Transportation and Civil Structures group, contribute to the development of internal expertise, and consolidate client relationships. You will also be involved in civil structure design tasks, according to your preferences.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Have professional experience in the field of bridges and civil structures, and more specifically in the field of road equipment.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer.
  • Have knowledge of modeling/design software such as Advance Design America, SAFI, and the Microsoft Suite, among others.
  • Mastery of codes and technologies related to bridge design as well as the requirements of the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (PJCCI).

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and dimensioning of road equipment (signage structures, electrotechnical structures, foundation masses) and civil structures in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Participate in the design and preparation of plans and specifications for road equipment and/or civil structure design projects by collaborating with the team of technicians and professionals.
  • Prepare estimates based on quantity surveys and selected project solutions.
  • Participate in the preparation, coordination, and execution of inspection projects for signage and/or electrotechnical structures, as well as contribute to the writing of inspection reports.
  • Participate in the execution of surveys of overhead signage structures and their structural analysis for projects involving the load-bearing capacity analysis of signage structures.
  • Conduct engineering studies for construction and various repair work on steel and concrete structures.
  • Provide designer assistance during construction phases.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of a team of engineers and technicians in project execution.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, partner contractors, and representatives of main suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Share knowledge and experience with team members.
  • Act as or become a technical reference.
  • All other duties related to the job.
