Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structures or bridges and civil structures;
  • Hold a master's degree in civil engineering is a significant asset;
  • Have a minimum of 12 years of professional experience in the field of bridges and civil structures;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer;
  • Knowledge of modeling/design software such as Advance Design America, SAFI, SAP, CSI Bridges, Midas, LPILE, Shape Builder, MathCad, Microsoft Suite, etc.;
  • Possess excellent technical knowledge in bridge and civil structure design;
  • Mastery of codes and technologies related to bridge design as well as the requirements of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec (MTMD) and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (PJCCI);
  • Experience in the design of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structures;

Responsibilities

  • Act as a design reference and provide technical supervision/assistance to team members (modeling, analysis methods, tool development, etc.);
  • Share knowledge and experience with team members;
  • Participate in internal technical committee workshops;
  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and dimensioning of bridge and civil structures according to applicable standards, codes, and regulations;
  • Prepare and review plans and specifications for bridge and civil structure design and rehabilitation projects;
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in project execution;
  • Provide designer assistance during construction phases;
  • Conduct basic and/or complex engineering studies for the construction and rehabilitation of steel and concrete structures;
  • Solve complex technical design problems;
  • Support the work of specialized resources in preparing service offers;
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with team members, clients, partner contractors, and main suppliers.
