EXP is seeking an experienced Railway Structures Engineer to join their Transport sector's Bridges and Civil Structures design team. This role involves working on various railway structure projects, developing internal expertise, and strengthening client relationships in the railway transport sector. The position offers the flexibility to work from one of several office locations including Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Drummondville, Québec, or Sherbrooke. The engineer will also be involved in road structure projects based on their interests. Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of railway bridges and structures.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer.
  • Mastery of codes and technologies related to civil structure design.
  • Excellent technical knowledge in the design of bridges and civil structures.
  • Team spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of modeling and design software such as Advance Design America, SAFI, SAP, CSI Bridges, Midas, L-piles, Shape Builder, MathCad, Microsoft Suite, etc.
  • Knowledge of AREMA documents, Transport Canada regulations, and Federal Railroad Administration regulations.
  • Experience in the design of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and dimensioning of railway or road structures according to applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Participate in the realization and design of railway or road structure projects by collaborating with the team of technicians and professionals.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for design and rehabilitation projects of railway or road structures.
  • Prepare estimates based on quantity surveys and selected project solutions.
  • Conduct engineering studies for construction and various repair work on steel, concrete, and wood structures.
  • Perform on-site damage surveys or any other expert surveys necessary for project execution.
  • Participate in the development of railway expertise within the team of nearly 100 civil structure design professionals.
  • Provide designer assistance during construction phases.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, partner contractors, and representatives of main suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Share knowledge and experience with team members.
  • Act as a technical reference or become one.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the job.
