Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structures or bridges and civil engineering.
  • 3 years or more of professional experience in the field of bridges and civil engineering.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer.
  • Knowledge of modeling/design software: Advance Design America, SAFI, SAP, CSI Bridges, Midas, L-piles, Shape Builder, MathCad, Microsoft Suite, etc.
  • Excellent technical knowledge in bridge and civil engineering design.
  • Mastery of codes and technologies related to bridge design as well as the requirements of the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Inc. (PJCCI).
  • Experience in the design of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structures.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree in Civil Engineering will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and dimensioning of bridges and civil structures according to applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for the design and refurbishment of bridges and civil structures.
  • Prepare estimates based on quantity surveys and the chosen solutions for the project.
  • Conduct complex engineering studies for construction and various refurbishment works of steel and concrete structures.
  • Perform field damage surveys or any other expertise survey necessary for project execution.
  • Provide assistance during construction phases.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of a team of engineers and technicians in project execution.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, partner contractors, and representatives of main suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Perform all other tasks related to the job.
