Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in structures or bridges and civil structures.
  • 0 to 3 years of professional experience in the field of bridges and civil structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in English is required for regular communication with internal and external partners across Canada, the US, and international projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of modeling/design software such as Advance Design America, SAFI, SAP, CSI Bridges, Midas, L-piles, Shape Builder, MathCad, Microsoft Suite, etc.
  • Knowledge of codes and technologies related to bridge design, as well as the requirements of the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) and the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (PJCCI).
  • Experience in the design of steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete structures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and dimensioning of bridges and civil structures according to applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for design and rehabilitation projects of bridges and civil structures.
  • Prepare estimates based on quantity surveys and selected project solutions.
  • Conduct complex engineering studies for construction and various rehabilitation works of steel and concrete structures.
  • Perform field damage surveys or any other expertise surveys necessary for project execution.
  • Provide designer assistance during construction phases.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of a team of engineers and technicians in project realization.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, partner contractors, and representatives of main suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Perform all other duties related to the job.
