About The Position

EXP is seeking a Port and Maritime Engineering Engineer to join the Transport group in Quebec. This role involves participating in various port and maritime engineering projects, contributing to the development of internal expertise, and strengthening relationships with port and maritime clients. Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Have professional experience in the field of port structures.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer.
  • Be resourceful, responsible, and organized.
  • Have good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Have good technical knowledge in port structure design.
  • Master codes and technologies related to port structure design as well as general requirements of port clients.
  • Have experience in the design of steel and reinforced concrete structures.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of modeling/design software such as Advance Design America, SAFI, SAP, CSI Bridges, Midas, L-piles, Shape Builder, MathCad, Microsoft Suite, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and dimensioning of port/maritime structures according to applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Participate in the realization and design of port/maritime structure projects by collaborating with a team of technicians and professionals.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for the design and refurbishment of port/maritime structures.
  • Prepare estimates based on quantity surveys and selected project solutions.
  • Conduct engineering studies for construction and various refurbishment works of steel and concrete structures.
  • Perform field damage surveys or any other expertise surveys necessary for project execution (and/or supervise the project team conducting surveys).
  • Provide designer assistance during construction phases.
  • Develop business related to the port market.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of a team of engineers and technicians in project execution.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, partner contractors, and representatives of main suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Share knowledge and experience with team members.
  • Act as or become a technical reference.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the job.
