About The Position

The Development Engineering group in Longueuil is Pratt & Whitney Canada's largest new engine development center. We are responsible for the development of the company's new generations of engines in addition to its existing portfolio which covers multiple existing and future product lines. Requirements

  • DEC, Technician with minimum 8 years’ experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with minimum 4 years’ experience.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent with minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading an IPT and working with suppliers and customers.
  • Candidate must have good communications skills (written and oral).
  • Candidate must be adaptable, self-motivated and have demonstrated abilities in working effectively under aggressive project timelines.
  • The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods. Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of these checks and obtaining the required clearances. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the employment offer.

  • Experience in mechanical and/or system disciplines an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages module hardware (orders, reworks, configurations, inspections) and delivers hardware to the engine build / test to meet the agreed upon engine L3 plan.
  • Ensure hardware kits and engine build files are accurate and up to date.
  • With the engineering IPT, identifies inspection requirements for their module and tracks key module characteristics (KPCs) in support of pro-cert and production readiness.
  • Defines the development engineering substantiation requirements for their module.
  • Reviews test requirements, and conflicting requirements from other modules and engine systems, and plans hardware configuration and modifications to satisfy the test intent.
  • Reviews test data and ensure data quality meets the RT and / or specialist requirements.
  • Document module issues / findings during engine build / test / strip.
  • Ensures completeness of the substantiation and verification / validation activities and related documentation to meet substantiation plan requirements.
  • Represents development engineering in the Engineering IPT.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and strategic projects as and when required.
  • Prepare execution plan (L3).
