As part of a multidisciplinary team, the power systems engineer will participate in the research, design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of new features for the CYME power engineering software solutions.

Requirements

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least one (1) year of experience using electrical power network modeling and simulation software.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in power systems engineering or a relevant graduate-level degree.
  • Experience using the CYME software suite.
  • Proficiency in both French and English to communicate with colleagues, clients, and partners outside of Quebec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada without requiring company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mathematical knowledge, including linear algebra and numerical methods.
  • Knowledge of the Python programming language, including familiarity with data analysis and manipulation using Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle in an agile (Scrum) environment.

Responsibilities

  • Designs complex power systems product features by the development of algorithms and calculation methods.
  • Participates in all new product development phases: specification analysis, research and prototype, design documentation, support software development team during implementation, testing and user documentation.
  • Collaborates with the software developers’ team during the development cycle.
  • Collaborates with the quality assurance team to identify software quality gaps and for testing automation.
  • Provides 2nd level technical support for users.
  • Acts as a knowledge resource for other team members
  • Acts as a technical leader for the team
