Infrastructure Engineer

LatchBioSan Francisco, CA
$180,000 - $250,000Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own the infrastructure layer of LatchBio, including container orchestration, distributed filesystems, cloud architecture, and database systems. While our team is operationally proficient, we lack the bandwidth to address exciting areas of improvement such as speeding up container starts, improving filesystem throughput, scaling up RL operations, and reducing costs. You will work with scientists and frontier models to build the infrastructure that powers our benchmarking pipeline, including data ingestion, eval design, grading systems, and infrastructure. This role involves working on products like an agent harness integrated with bio-first tooling, a distributed file-system with metadata on Postgres and blobs on S3, a cluster orchestrator, reactive Python-based notebooks, and a benchmarking harness with automated QC processes. Our mission is to accelerate biological science for the benefit of humanity.

Requirements

  • Worked both on and with container orchestration systems such as K8s
  • Deeply proficient at postgres
  • Mastery of cloud primitives, especially AWS ones
  • Exceptional modern Linux fundamentals like eBPF, cgroups2, etc
