About The Position
As an Information Technology Generalist 1 with the Department of Corrections, State correctional Institution (SCI) Laurel Highlands, you will help strengthen the technology that supports facilities across the state. Requirements
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on hardware and software use and assist users in solving technical issues
- Review current processes and gather data to create improved applications and workflows
- Monitor network availability, configure equipment, and maintain connectivity to ensure reliable operations
- Maintain user accounts, review security logs, and apply protective measures to safeguard systems
- Install, upgrade, and adjust hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and application software
- Deliver training to staff and support lower-level technical personnel in system procedures
