About The Position

This position oversees dental services within the institution and ensures that inmates receive proper examinations, treatment, and follow-up care. The role supports daily operations by supervising dental staff, providing clinical services, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties: Dental Examinations: Conduct oral exams, diagnose dental conditions, and determine appropriate treatment options. Clinical Treatment: Provide routine dental procedures, treat injuries, and perform restorative work for inmate patients. Staff Oversight: Supervise dental personnel and ensure safe, secure, and compliant operations in the dental office. Specialist Coordination: Consult with and refer patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health professionals when needed. Tool and Safety Control: Monitor tool use, maintain security practices, and follow established safety procedures. Record Management: Document dental care, treatment plans, and patient progress according to policy requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
