About The Position

Avail Health & Behavioral Solutions, LLC is seeking an Independent Direct Care Provider to join its registry network as an independent contractor. The provider will offer one-on-one community support to a 30-year-old male on the autism spectrum, serving as a companion and mentor while helping him practice social skills in real-world settings. Care may take place in the client’s home and/or community.

The client is approved for up to 25 hours per week and would like to begin at approximately 5 hours per week while becoming acclimated to the routine. Hours may increase as the client becomes more comfortable. The position is part-time, scheduled Monday through Friday with flexible hours, in Jacksonville, Florida. Compensation is $17.00 per hour.

Avail Health & Behavioral Solutions, LLC is a nurse registry agency connecting homecare clients with experienced caregivers. Services are typically funded by Medicaid, private insurance, or the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD). The agency does not operate out of a facility; caregivers provide one-on-one care in clients’ homes and/or communities.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not W-2 employment. Contractors are responsible for their own tax obligations, including self-employment taxes, and are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, health insurance, or paid time off. The provider must use a personal vehicle for professional purposes; gas and mileage are not reimbursed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for professional use; gas and mileage are not reimbursed.
• Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client care and safety with limited supervision.
• Personal smartphone required for app-based scheduling and client communication.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of onboarding.
• APD Training Certificates required within 30 days of onboarding.

Nice To Haves

• CNA, BLS, HHA, or DSP certification; preferred but not required.
• Experience as a caregiver, special needs teacher, or behavioral professional.

Responsibilities
