About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and cargo van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement; the company does not hire company drivers. The company offers a large number of loads, dispatchers with more than four years of experience and broker contacts, negotiable rates, and loads personalized to drivers’ preferences. Stated rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for Sprinter long-mile loads in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for Sprinter long-mile loads in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile for Sprinter loads in Canada. Payment is made in 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated days range is Monday through Friday. The posting states a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, dependent on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat certificate and TSA/TWIC qualifications.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or cargo van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• You and your drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• You and your drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
• Have at least six months of driving experience.
• Sprinter vehicles must be no older than 2016.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• Remove all vehicle decals.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.
• Submit an application to execute a written independent contractor agreement as an owner-operator.

Responsibilities

• Provide and operate your own Sprinter or cargo van as an owner-operator.

• Tell dispatchers your load preferences so they can offer suitable loads.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if you make changes to it.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
