About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers a large number of loads, experienced dispatchers with 4+ years of experience and broker contacts, and the opportunity to negotiate rates with dispatchers. Loads are personalized according to the owner-operator’s preferences. Advertised Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated operating days are Monday through Friday. The company does not hire company drivers; drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
• At least 6 months of driving experience.
• Sprinters must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have a minimum of four straps and PPE.
• Remove all decals from the vehicle.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Russian language ability is accommodated; the company also hires Russian speakers.
• A Hazmat certificate and TSA/TWIC may affect earning potential.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Use an eligible Sprinter or Cargo Van to transport assigned loads.
• Communicate load preferences so dispatchers can offer suitable loads.
• Ensure all drivers are approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting loads.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Inform the company of vehicle changes before putting the vehicle on the road.
