About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is seeking Sprinter and cargo van owner-operators to work under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers a large number of loads, personalized load options based on the operator’s preferences, and rates that can be negotiated with dispatchers. Dispatchers have at least four years of experience and broker contacts. Stated rates for Sprinters are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas and $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas. Canada Sprinter rates are $1.25–$1.55 per mile. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workdays are Monday through Friday.

Applicants must own a Sprinter or cargo van and meet the stated eligibility, age, language, driving-experience, and vehicle requirements. All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with the company before accepting a load. The company does not hire company drivers. The stated minimum average monthly earnings are $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and certifications such as Hazmat or TSA/TWIC.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or cargo van.
• Be a US citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and drivers must speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
• Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
• Sprinters must be no older than model year 2016.
• Vehicles must have at least 4 straps and PPE.
• Remove all decals from the vehicle.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Accept loads through VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER after being approved, accepted, and registered.
• Communicate load preferences so dispatchers can offer suitable loads.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road after making changes to it.
