About The Position

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking educators committed to students and their communities for the position of In-School Resource Teacher, specifically assigned to support Miller Elementary School. This role is open to current Permanent and Probationary San Diego Unified Teachers. The district, the second largest in California, emphasizes respect for diversity and accountability. The In-School Resource Teacher will collaborate with staff to streamline services, ensure fidelity in intervention implementation, and monitor student progress, focusing on students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. Requirements

  • Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (or other accepted credential type) by the closing date of the application deadline.
  • Experience working in Special Education settings, particularly with students with moderate to severe disabilities, is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrate experience in behavior intervention and support.
  • Demonstrate experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate experience implementing individualized academic and functional programming.
  • Experience facilitating Student Study Team (SST) processes is desirable.
  • Experience supporting IEP implementation is desirable.
  • Experience providing both push-in and pull-out services in school-based settings is desirable.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices is strongly recommended.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation strategies is strongly recommended.
  • Knowledge of inclusive support models is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to streamline services.
