This role involves performing and completing alterations according to Indochino’s guidelines and service standards. The In-House Tailor will provide sound advice on the product, calculate lead times to ensure customer expectations are managed, and possess strong knowledge of garment fitting, fabrics, styling, manufacturing techniques, garment construction, and men’s suiting. A customer-centric approach, understanding and showing enthusiasm for the product and brand, is essential. Responsibilities include pressing, steaming, and spot cleaning garments, following quality control guidelines, and meeting or exceeding productivity levels (300+ units a month minimum). The role also requires completing rush orders, special requests, and escalated situations, maintaining accurate records of alterations, and coordinating with external alterations vendors to resolve issues. Cultivating customer relationships for loyalty and brand ambassadorship, identifying and communicating quality discrepancies, and assisting with customer fittings during high traffic are also key duties. The tailor will educate customers and showroom personnel on fitting techniques, resolve customer service issues related to alterations, and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment. Communication of supply needs to the Alterations Specialist is also required.
