In-House Creator

Genesis•San Carlos, CA

About The Position

Genesis is hiring an In-House Creator to document its people, robots, lab work, and everyday activity, and turn that work into a steady stream of polished content for the company’s brand accounts. The creator will work with the Social Media Manager, founders, researchers, and engineers to identify stories, film them, and produce and finish videos for publication, with X as the first platform priority. The role covers end-to-end video production, including camera, lighting, audio, editing, and platform-specific versions. The creator will develop recurring content formats, support launches and events, document customer deployments, and build a searchable footage library and capture system for teams to use. They will also review robot footage for accuracy and safety, and ensure customer or unreleased material is cleared before publication.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience shooting, producing, and editing video, with a portfolio demonstrating both footage captured and editing work.
  • Hands-on skills with cameras, lighting, and audio, including fast setups in tight lab spaces and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Fluency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar editing software.
  • Working knowledge of short-form video hooks, pacing, and sound.
  • Ability to turn around content the same day while maintaining quality.
  • Comfort appearing on camera and a curious, credible, understated presence appropriate to Genesis.
  • Genuine curiosity about robotics and patience working around engineers, test schedules, and unpredictable hardware.
  • Safety awareness around moving robots and active test areas, including asking before entering a work cell.
  • Sound editorial judgment about publication readiness, including identifying when footage overstates a robot’s capabilities or reveals information that should remain internal.

Nice To Haves

  • An existing following whose tone and audience align with Genesis.
  • Experience with motion graphics, 3D, or AI-assisted creative tools that improve speed without lowering quality.
  • Prior work in robotics, hardware, or another field where lab demonstrations and field deployments require different filming approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Capture everyday life at Genesis, including robot tests, whiteboard sessions, and other lab activity, and create a steady pipeline of content for brand accounts.
  • Film robots and lab work safely, prioritizing footage of real tasks and capabilities over staged moments.
  • Shoot, produce, and edit video end to end, including camera, lighting, audio, pacing, music, and final cuts adapted for each platform, with X as the priority.
  • Develop recurring content formats such as lab updates, engineer explainers, and first-attempt robot reels.
  • Help founders, researchers, and engineers communicate clearly and naturally on camera.
  • Cover launches, events, and lab visits, and create video stories about customer deployments as robots enter production.
  • Build a searchable footage library and a capture system, including shot lists and filming guides, so engineers and field teams can provide usable footage.
  • Coordinate with the Social Media Manager on what to publish, when to publish it, and in what form; provide both raw and finished material for the content calendar.
  • Review robot clips for accuracy by labeling autonomy level and playback speed, flagging edits that could alter how results are understood, and holding customer or unreleased work until it is cleared.
  • Maintain a high quality bar while publishing frequently, exercising judgment about what should remain internal, be cut, or appear on brand accounts.
  • Use appropriate safety awareness around moving robots and active test areas, and ask before entering a work cell.
