In-House Creator

Genesis•San Carlos, CA

About The Position

Genesis is seeking an In-House Creator to document the company’s work and produce a steady stream of credible, premium-feeling video for its brand accounts. The creator will work with the Social Media Manager, who owns strategy and the publishing calendar, as well as founders, researchers, engineers, and field teams. The role covers spotting stories, filming, producing, and editing content, with versions tailored to their platforms and an emphasis on X. The creator will capture everyday life at Genesis, robot capabilities and lab work, launches, events, lab visits, and customer deployments. They will develop recurring content formats, help technical team members communicate naturally on camera, and build a searchable footage library and capture system. The role also includes reviewing robot footage for accuracy, labeling autonomy level and playback speed, flagging edits that might misrepresent results, and holding customer or unreleased material until cleared.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience shooting, producing, and editing video, with a portfolio showing both captured footage and editing work.
  • Hands-on skill with camera, lighting, and audio, including fast setups in tight lab spaces and maintaining the equipment used.
  • Fluency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar editing software.
  • Working understanding of short-form video hooks, pacing, and sound.
  • Ability to turn around footage the same day while maintaining quality.
  • Comfort on camera and a curious, credible, understated presence.
  • Genuine curiosity about robotics and patience working around engineers, test schedules, and hardware that may not cooperate.
  • Safety awareness around moving robots and active test areas, including asking before entering a work cell.
  • Sound judgment about publication readiness, including recognizing when a clip overstates a robot’s capabilities or reveals information that should remain internal.

Nice To Haves

  • An existing following whose tone and audience align with Genesis.
  • Motion graphics, 3D, or AI-assisted creative tools that improve speed without lowering quality.
  • Prior work in robotics, hardware, or another field where lab demos and field deployments require different filming approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Capture everyday life at Genesis and turn it into a steady pipeline of material for the brand accounts.
  • Film robots and lab work safely, favoring unbroken takes of real tasks over staged moments.
  • Shoot, produce, and edit video end to end, including camera, lighting, audio, pacing, music, and final cuts tailored to each platform, with X first.
  • Develop recurring formats such as lab updates, engineer explainers, and first-attempt robot reels.
  • Help founders, researchers, and engineers communicate clearly and naturally on camera.
  • Cover launches, events, and lab visits, and create video stories about customer deployments.
  • Build a searchable footage library and create shot lists and filming guides to help engineers and field teams capture usable footage.
  • Coordinate with the Social Media Manager on what ships, when, and in what form, providing raw and finished material.
  • Review robot clips for accuracy, label autonomy level and playback speed, flag edits that change how results are perceived, and hold customer or unreleased work until cleared.
  • Maintain a high quality bar while publishing frequently, deciding what remains internal, what is cut, and what is published on brand accounts.
