About The Position

Visiting Angels of Edmond is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout the Oklahoma City Metro area, including Oklahoma City, NW Oklahoma City, Edmond, Guthrie, Jones, Stillwater, and Ponca City. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with custom care plans. The role may include personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility assistance, transportation, and medication reminders. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties at once.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Nice To Haves

Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while following applicable dietary constraints.
Handle light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist with client mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
Use a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
