About The Position

Visiting Angels of Brownwood is hiring caregivers to serve clients in Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Blanket, Comanche, and surrounding local areas. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with custom care plans. Work may take place in clients’ homes or in facilities, depending on location. Flexible schedules, competitive pay, growth opportunities, and advanced training options are offered. Advanced training may include dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency response training; training is provided if needed.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
• Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
• Ability and willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including background checks.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
• Transport clients using a personal vehicle.
