About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors of Baltimore County is hiring a certified educator to provide personalized, in-person homeschooling instruction to a middle school student in the student's private home in Pikesville, Maryland. The assignment covers middle school general education across all core academic subjects, including mathematics, English, reading, writing, science, and social studies. The schedule is two hours per day, five days per week, for 10 hours weekly.

The teacher will tailor instruction to the student's learning style, goals, abilities, and academic needs; help strengthen foundational skills and master challenging concepts; and support completion of assignments and coursework. The role also involves fostering confidence, effective learning habits, organization, time management, and independent problem-solving. The teacher will monitor progress and communicate meaningful feedback to the family and tutoring team. This is a contract assignment requiring in-person work at the student's home and reliable personal transportation.

Requirements

• Hold a valid U.S. teaching license or certificate and be authorized and qualified to teach in Baltimore, Maryland.
• Have experience working with middle school students through homeschooling, classroom teaching, private tutoring, or a similar educational role.
• Have strong knowledge of the middle school curriculum and the ability to teach across all core academic subjects.
• Communicate clearly and explain challenging concepts in approachable, student-friendly ways.
• Be patient, reliable, organized, and committed to student growth.
• Be able to tailor teaching approaches to individual student needs.
• Be willing to complete applicable screening and background-check requirements.
• Have reliable transportation, access to a personal vehicle, and the ability to travel to the student's home in Pikesville, Maryland.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
