About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. This role offers a unique practice environment free from waiting rooms, double-booked appointments, and corporate production pressures. The focus is on providing compassionate, unhurried end-of-life care. The practice is privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led, and importantly, does not utilize non-compete agreements, allowing veterinarians to build their careers on their own terms. This position is ideal for experienced veterinarians seeking to move away from the fast pace of general or emergency practice, those returning to work after a break, or individuals looking to build a schedule around family needs. The ideal candidate excels at difficult conversations and finds deep meaning in providing end-of-life care.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
• Weekend Availability (Rotational)
• Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted
• Professional Communication Skills

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services for pets.
• Work independently in a mobile veterinary environment.
