About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families across Jacksonville, Cedar Hills, Avondale, East Arlington, Del Rio, and Orange Park, Florida. This role offers a unique practice environment with no waiting rooms, no double-booked appointments, and no corporate production dashboards, allowing veterinarians to focus on providing compassionate end-of-life care. The practice is privately held, family-owned, and doctor-led, and notably does not use non-compete contracts, ensuring veterinarians have career freedom. This position is ideal for experienced veterinarians seeking a less demanding pace than general or emergency practice, those returning to work, or those needing a schedule that accommodates family life. The core philosophy emphasizes compassion, dignity, respect, and empathy in end-of-life care.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD/BVMS degree
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to Work Independently in a Mobile Environment
• Weekend Availability (Rotational)
• Ability to Lift up to 45 lbs Unassisted
• Exude Compassion, Dignity & Respect to ALL
• Professional Communication to Team & Families

Responsibilities

• Serve pet families in their homes for hospice and euthanasia services.
• Conduct end-of-life care appointments with a focus on compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Manage mobile veterinary practice independently.
• Communicate professionally with the team and pet families.
