About The Position

Abbington is seeking in-home caregivers to support clients with personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation, errands, and safety monitoring. Caregivers follow each client’s individualized care plan, maintain confidentiality, and report changes in the client’s condition, emergencies, or other concerns.

The posting also describes professional responsibilities of an in-home care agency, including hiring and screening caregivers, training and supervising them, developing individualized care plans, maintaining client records, communicating with families, and complying with state licensing requirements and regulations.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience in home care, caregiving, personal care, or a related healthcare field.
• Ability to provide personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, compassionate, patient, and respectful.
• Ability to follow individualized care plans and maintain client confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Experience assisting elderly individuals or people with disabilities.
• CPR/First Aid certification, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, and oral hygiene.
• Provide conversation and emotional support, participate in activities and games, and help reduce loneliness and isolation.
• Prepare nutritious meals, assist with eating when needed, and follow dietary restrictions.
• Do laundry, change bed linens, wash dishes, and help keep living areas clean and safe.
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications and observe and report medication concerns, following the care plan and applicable regulations.
• Assist clients with walking, transfers, wheelchairs, and walkers, and help prevent falls.
• Accompany clients to appointments, assist with grocery shopping, and help with errands.
• Monitor changes in clients’ conditions, report emergencies and concerns, maintain confidentiality, and follow individualized care plans.
