In-Home Caregiver - Bedford County
About The Position
AmeriCare Plus is seeking certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Nursing Assistants (NA), and Personal Care Aides (PCA) to provide compassionate in-home personal care to clients in Bedford County. Caregivers support clients with everyday personal needs and provide companionship and help in the comfort of their homes. PCA training is provided for interested applicants who are not certified. The posting lists weekday assignments in the Town of Bedford: a female client Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., and a male client Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Flexible schedules may also include weekdays, weekends, and overnights. The schedule may be full-time, part-time, or PRN. The agency provides weekly pay, PPE, ongoing training, and other programs; full-time PCAs are eligible for benefits.
Requirements
- CNA, NA, or PCA certification; online training is provided for people interested in PCA work.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Social Security card.
- Two professional references.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable disposition.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Support client mobility and transfers, such as moving from a bed to a wheelchair.
- Prepare light meals and assist with feeding.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ health or behavior.
