About The Position

Visiting Angels Albuquerque is seeking compassionate In Home Caregiver - Housekeepers to support senior adults and others in need in Albuquerque and surrounding communities. Caregivers provide companionship and assistance with daily activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility, and transportation. The role offers opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate manner.
• Good time management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ethics.
• Physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including trips to doctor’s appointments and walks.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
• Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
• Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
