About The Position

Visiting Angels Edmond is hiring an In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper to provide compassionate in-home support to senior adults and others in need in Blackwell and surrounding communities. The role includes companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility assistance, transportation, and other daily support. The position offers opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. Shift options include full-time and part-time schedules, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, and short shifts.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including attending appointments and taking walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Provide transportation and one-on-one mobility assistance.
