Requirements

2 to 4 years of experience in import customs clearance, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or related logistics operations.
Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import entry procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and compliance.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and submit customs entries for import shipments through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and government agency requirements, including FDA, USDA, Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS), and other regulatory agencies.
Review commercial invoices, shipping documents, and supporting paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Process and manage import documentation for an assigned portfolio of customer accounts.
File Importer Security Filings (ISF) and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with customers, carriers, customs officials, truckers, freight forwarders, and overseas agents to facilitate smooth cargo clearance and delivery.
Resolve customs holds, examinations, documentation discrepancies, FDA reviews, and other clearance-related issues.
Prepare delivery orders and coordinate cargo pickup and delivery activities.
Communicate shipment status updates to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Research and verify shipment records, including HBLs, commercial invoices, and related documentation.
Obtain freight quotations and coordinate transportation with ocean carriers, airlines, and trucking providers.
Prepare customer quotations and support pricing requests.
Manage import files from initiation through final delivery and billing completion.
Maintain exceptional customer service standards while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Support continuous process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
