About The Position
As an Imaging Student Extern at Lakeview Hospital, you will gain hands-on experience while learning from experienced team members. You will contribute to patient care and help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their imaging experience. The role involves preparing and transporting patients, supporting imaging-room readiness, communicating patient needs to the care team, and participating in learning opportunities while following safety and confidentiality standards. Requirements
- Be a student at an approved school of Radiologic Technology, or receive on-the-job student training under the direct supervision of a certified technologist.
- Hold American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) course certification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for imaging by obtaining histories, verifying identities, and assisting with positioning while communicating clearly and compassionately.
- Safely transport patients between areas and support their comfort and emotional needs during procedures.
- Set up imaging rooms, manage turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
- Communicate patient needs and concerns promptly to technologists and the care team.
- Participate in learning opportunities and follow safety and confidentiality standards.
