About The Position

Under general supervision, the Imaging Scheduler is responsible for key activities associated with the Department of Radiology scheduling system across multiple locations. The role schedules exams and procedures for services including MRI, CT, PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiovascular, Vascular Lab, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology, Fluoroscopy, and Dietary. It processes paperwork for outpatient and inpatient exams, assists staff and patients, provides directions, and answers a multi-line phone system. The position coordinates requests and resources to improve testing sequence efficiency and resource utilization, and provides requesting persons with information about when exams or procedures will start. The role is suited to someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Up to 1 year of job-related experience.
Typing and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or professional training.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
1 to 2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule exams and procedures across multiple locations and radiology services.
Process paperwork for outpatient and inpatient exams.
Assist staff and patients, provide directions, and answer a multi-line phone system.
Coordinate requests and resources to optimize testing sequence and resource utilization.
Provide requesting persons with information about exam or procedure start times.
Enter patient demographics, medical history, and insurance information accurately and promptly into the medical records system.
Provide accurate instructions to prepare patients for exams.
Perform daily checks of equipment, accessories, and supplies.
File documents, schedule patients, write reports, and maintain patient records between exams.
Attend in-service programs and departmental staff meetings.
Perform other related duties as required.
