About The Position

The City of Sandy Springs is hiring seasonal Ice Rink Shift Supervisors for its community ice rink season, which runs from November 13 through January 18, 2027. The supervisor leads rink and ticket attendants, oversees rink operations, supports guests, and helps provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors of all skating abilities. Training is provided for ice maintenance and operation of ice resurfacing equipment. The role requires some holiday availability, including Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Basic knowledge of ice rink safety rules and protocols.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods.
• Ability to exert medium physical effort and lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects and materials up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform tasks involving balancing, bending, climbing, crouching, handling, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, stooping, and walking; some work is on slippery surfaces.
• Ability to perceive sounds and visual cues or signals and to communicate orally.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in ice rink operations, customer service, or a related field.
• Skating experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise rink and ticket attendants during assigned shifts.
• Oversee daily rink operations, including opening, closing, and ice maintenance.
• Provide customer service and assist visitors.
• Train and support team members.
• Monitor ice safety and rink capacity, and enforce safety rules.
• Assist with special events, crowd management, and skate rentals.
• Safely operate ice resurfacing equipment and sharpen skates.
