About The Position

As an Ice Rink Attendant at the Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront, you will help create a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for hotel guests and visitors using the resort’s seasonal ice rink. The role includes welcoming guests, managing skate rentals, monitoring ice safety, and performing light maintenance while providing exceptional, brand-standard service.

Requirements

• Previous customer service, hospitality, or recreation experience is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, up to 8 hours.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying coastal weather conditions, including wind and cooler winter temperatures.
• Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Basic ice-skating proficiency; must be comfortable moving securely on or near the ice.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests enthusiastically and embody the Renaissance brand’s hospitality culture.
• Help guests select properly fitting ice skates and manage rental equipment check-in and check-out.
• Monitor activity on the ice, enforce safety guidelines, prevent reckless behavior, and assist skaters of all ages and skill levels, especially children and beginners.
• Sweep, scrape, or clear the ice surface regularly during shifts to maintain skating conditions.
• Sanitize, organize, and maintain rental skates, and promptly report damaged equipment.
• Keep the skate rental counter, seating areas, and surrounding deck clean and free of tripping hazards.
