Summit Park Ice Rink Attendant
About The Position
The City of Blue Ash is hiring seasonal, part-time Ice Rink Attendants to work at the Summit Park Outdoor Ice Rink. The position runs from November 14 to January 10 and involves both indoor and outdoor work. No prior experience is required; training is provided, including paid, on-site training. Applicants must pass a comprehensive background check. The Blue Ash Recreation Department operates and programs the City's recreational amenities, including the Recreation Center, Towne Square and Veteran's Memorial, Sports Center, Nature Park and Amphitheater, Historical Hunt House, and Summit Park.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-service-focused environment.
- Availability for mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service.
- Greet and assist visitors with skate rentals, questions, and other needs.
- Monitor the rink to uphold safety, enforce rules, and foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for skaters of all ages and abilities.
- Accurately process cash and card transactions for skate rental fees.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or incidents, following established safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized rink, skate rental area, and surrounding spaces.
- Perform light maintenance, such as removing snow or ice shavings, to maintain skating conditions.
- Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of ice rink events and programs.
- Perform opening and closing duties to prepare the facility for daily operations.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with fellow staff members.
