About The Position

The Ice Crew assists with ice operations at Enmarket Arena, supporting the setup and breakdown of the hockey rink between events. The role includes preparing and maintaining the ice, configuring the rink for different events, and helping with rink equipment and facility maintenance. The hourly pay rate is $15.00–$19.00. The position is part-time and will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Requirements

High school diploma or trade school certificate.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended consecutive days.
Ability to lift heavy objects on or off the ice and walk on wet or slippery surfaces.
Proficiency in ice skating, including starting, stopping, and turning, using personal skates.
Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively under pressure or on a stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

Nice To Haves

Strong knowledge of hockey facilities, including ice installation.
Demonstrated knowledge of NHL, AHL, and ECHL standard rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist the Zamboni Driver with preparing the hockey ice sheet before games.
Drill peg holes and set nets on the ice before games and during intermissions.
Shovel snow during and after periods, on and off the ice.
Set up rugs and runners for anthem singers and special promotions, on and off the ice.
Help staff repair and adjust dasherboards and rink glass.
Assist with project work as needed.
Help configure the rink for hockey matches, youth skates, college hockey, and other events.
Assist with installing hockey dasher boards and glass.
Assist with ice installation and removal.
Clean hockey glass before games and special events.
Assist with preventative maintenance of Zambonis, ice edgers, blades, and other facility equipment.
Provide assistance as needed at OVG's Savannah properties, including Port Wentworth Ice Cove, Vystar Pavillion, Johnny Mercer Theatre, and future projects.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
