About The Position

Legends Global is seeking a dependable and hardworking Ice Crew Member to support ice operations at The Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minnesota. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, high-quality ice surface while assisting with event and rink operations. The position has variable part-time hours based on the venue’s event and hockey schedule, with a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Proficient at ice skating.
• Ability to work as a team and follow directions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on one's feet and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.

Nice To Haves

• Hockey knowledge or experience is preferred.
• Ice rink, arena, or facility operations experience is a plus; training may be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Perform ice-surface snow removal during TV timeouts.
• Complete pregame and postgame duties, including mat setup and removal, dasher inspection, and equipment preparation.
• Place goal nets and move them during intermissions.
• Drill marsh peg holes and clear the ice.
• Serve as an on-ice skate monitor during special events and public skates.
• Assist with fan-engagement intermission events.
• Follow safety procedures and venue policies.
• Work collaboratively with the venue operations team to help events run smoothly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Ice Technician Manager or Ice Technician.
