About The Position

The HVAC Tech II installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. The role applies specialized knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems. It is a full-time, day-shift position in the Facilities department.

Requirements

• EPA Certification.
• At least one of the following: high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from trade school, three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.

Nice To Haves

• EPA Certification level II is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems.
• Apply specialized knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and manage power outage procedures.
• Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with personnel regarding work orders.
• Ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
• Keep tools and vehicles in safe operating condition.
• Participate in meetings and training workshops and assist with special projects as assigned; this accounts for 20% of the role.
