About The Position

The HVAC Tech II performs maintenance, repair, and installation work involving commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related equipment. The role requires knowledge of commercial refrigeration, chillers, boilers, energy management systems, kitchen equipment, and HVAC controls. The employee uses specialized machinery, equipment, and tools and works independently with little direction. The position is 238 workdays per year at 8 hours per day, with fluctuating hours and shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (English or Spanish).
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
• Five years minimum with a CFC Universal License.
• Five years minimum experience in HVAC, commercial refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and maintenance repair; listed as preferred in the posting.
• Three years minimum experience with energy management systems.
• Valid HVAC license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing (TDLR).
• Ability to work fluctuating hours and shifts.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work independently with little direction.

Nice To Haves

• Five years minimum experience in HVAC, commercial refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and maintenance repair (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Work with commercial refrigeration systems, chillers, boilers, energy management systems, kitchen equipment, and related components.
• Operate specialized machinery, equipment, and tools used for HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference materials.
• Coordinate district functions.
• Interpret policies, procedures, and data.
• Communicate effectively with district employees and the general public orally and in writing.
