About The Position

The HVAC Service Apprentice performs field activities supporting the installation, maintenance, and servicing of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems at customer sites. The role assists with preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration after installation, and uses technical training to maintain systems. The apprentice works independently and as part of a team to support customer satisfaction. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and may involve travel to multiple job sites.

Requirements

• At least 1 year in a commercial HVAC mechanical support role, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork.
• Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may need to satisfactorily complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal history checks.
• Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
• Ability to correctly identify colors of color-coded cables or wires and demonstrate close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that may include working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, standing or walking for long periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use construction equipment, including heavy machinery, hand tools, and power tools.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC trade school graduate.
• EPA or NATE certification.
• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities
